Bert finished

Here is the finished version of Bert waiting for approval. The original is a bit lighter and brighter but with the weather conditions as they are (typical wet summer!) I haven't yet been able to go outside to take a photo of this painting. I normally don't use reference photos that need things, such as the head collar, taking off but I luckily had some other great reference photos of Bert to compare with and it didn't prove too tricky.

Here is the latest update of Bert, just the tack to go. It's been a while since I've painted a dark bay so I've really enjoyed this painting. It's facsinating all the different colours that are in the coat, like blues and purples.

Here are the beginnings of Bert. I had hoped to start the painting last week whilst at the Hartpury Horse Trials but the weather being as appalling as it was meant I had to have all my prints etc at the back of the tent, leaving me no space to work!

Tabu - finished

Finally, a sunny day in which to take the photo! I finished the painting of Tabu the other day but it's been so wet and windy outside that I've been unable to get a photo until today. He's been an absolute joy to paint and I was able to put in lots of detail.
