It's coming along slowly, and sadly a lot slower than I had anticipated, I even thought I might have managed to get it finished today but it's amazing how other things such as organising couriers, packaging paintings etc can leave you running around the house and getting little painting done! I won't be able to work on this until next Wednesday now so let's hope it quietens down a bit next week.

Here is the beginning of the painting. I'll be the first to admit that landscapes are not really my forte but I love a challenge. I've made the landscape quite muted so it won't distract from the figures in the painting. As you can see, I've started with blocking in the colour of Angus and Tara and will start filling in more detail tomorrow.

I started to concentrate on Carragh's beautiful face today and have completed either side. I haven't managed any higher or lower because the size of the canvas means I have to move my chair up and down!

Carragh

Here is the beautiful Carragh, a Thoroughbred X Shire. This is going to be a big painting, 20x30" and a slightly different pose to normal but a very exciting painting for me. The photos of the work in progress are taken indoors so the colour match is not perfect but you get the general idea!
